Position Summary

HRPA Awards of Distinction - Judge's Panel, formerly know as The Volunteer Excellence Award Judges Panel, judges the following awards in accordance with the requirements and standards which have been established for each award:

  • The Fellow of the Human Resources Professionals Association (FHRPA) award
  • The Distinguished Human Resources Professionals (DHRP) award
  • The Emeritus Human Resources Professional (EHRP) award
  • The Honourary Life Member award

 

The Chair of the Committee reports to the Chief Executive Officer of HRPA.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • The Committee is responsible for the review, selection and presentation of recipient recommendations to the HRPA Board of Directors for ratification.
  • The Committee is responsible for familiarizing themselves with each award and the rules of procedure.
  • The Committee is responsible implementing the processes of selecting the Honourary Life, Emeritus, FHRPA and DHRP following the specific guidelines for each process.
  • The Committee is responsible for adhering to the budget established for Committee activities.
  • The Committee may make suggestions as to the establishment, modification, or discontinuance of awards, the criteria for awards, and the entitlements of awards. Such suggestions will be made to the CEO of HRPA.
  • The Committee is responsible for submitting a brief report on the Committee’s activities to the CEO.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous Award Winners - is an asset but not required
  • Must hold a CHRP, CHRL or CHRE designation including retired status
  • Must have been a member of HRPA for five years

Time Commitment

HRPA Awards of Distinction - Judge's Panel meets in-person once per year for a meeting (during business hours) and other committee work is done via email or teleconference on an ad-hoc basis during business hours.

Travel to HRPA’s Toronto office may be required.
