Description:

Purpose: Support the Sub-Committee Lead with initiatives to ensure mentor and mentee's are paired and have appropriate resources to coordinate their relationship.

Responsibilities:

• Review application process for mentors and mentees, including review of applications and reference checks for mentors
• Act as the Mentorcity administrator
• Help manage mentoring email and manage Committee meetings on behalf of the leads
• Match mentors and mentees
• Recruit mentors as required to meet program needs
• Be a key contact to support mentor/mentee pairs
• Design and develop program materials, including handouts, agreements, presentations
• Attend and actively participate at sub-committee and general mentoring committee meetings.

In addition, as a member of the mentoring committee you will assist with other duties including but not limited to;
• Prepare meeting agendas and circulate minutes
• Visit schools to promote mentoring programs
• Attend mentoring events and assist with facilitation
• Attend other York region events promote program and continually recruit qualified individuals to participate in program


Qualifications:
• Interest in development of new members/professionals
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Training background an asset
• Knowledge and experience of current workplace issues and trends and how they relate to Chapter meetings and events
• Keen interest in mentoring
• Skilled in use of Mentorcity or similar software.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work with a team of volunteers under time constraint
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Commitment Requirements:
2 – 6 hours/month
• Time commitment greater during application time and event planning, and attendance at mentoring events
