At the bookstore, you will assist delegates in finding the book they are seeking, keeping the shelves stocked and tidy and assisting with line control during author book signings.
At the HRPA booth you will assist members and non members with their questions and hand out materials as required. You will assist in signing up new members and renewing current members.
Keynote Volunteers monitor and ensure a smooth flow of delegates into the main halls during Keynote Presentations.
Media room volunteers are responsible for registering media at the media registration desk, assisting in the media room and answering any conference-related media questions.
At the Recertification Clinic, you will answer questions about the CHRP designation. All Recertification Clinic volunteers must hold a CHRP designation.
As a registration volunteer, you will be responsible for printing badges off a database system, handing out tote bags and badge holders, giving directions, answering general questions and welcoming delegates to the conference. Training will be provided before the conference begins.
Volunteers in the Sessions Group monitor and ensure a smooth flow of delegates into the session rooms, scan delegate badges to ensure that they are registered for the session they are attending to ensure room capacity is observed.
One volunteer will always be responsible for picking up the Scanners and the Room Capacity List for the session and returning them to the Registration. Additionally, a total count of each session’s attendance is recorded and submitted to the Conference Office.
As a Speaker Support volunteer you will read the short introduction/bio which will be at the podium in the room to which you are assigned. (A secondary copy of the intro/bio will be kept in the Volunteer Office). You will complete an audio visual check with the Speaker and inform a Sessions volunteer if there are any technical problems who will arrange for assistance. You will then introduce the speaker at the beginning of his/her session and thank them at the end of their presentation. To apply for this position, you should be comfortable in speaking in front of an audience.
TD Green Room: This role requires the volunteer to ensure all guests in the TD Green Room are invited SHRP members (only). Check in and administer an internet code to guests if required.
The Volunteer Office staff and volunteers are responsible for a smooth flow of required information and supplies over the three-day event. This includes ensuring that all supplies are distributed to appropriate sessions and the monitoring of supplies. The Volunteer Office is also where all volunteers must check in each morning, retrieve food vouchers and to get answers to questions concerning their responsibilities.
