Position Summary:
The mandate of the Complaints Committee is to receive, assess and respond to all complaints respecting allegations of non-compliance with the Association’s Code of Ethics, By-laws or Rules of Professional Conduct.
Skills & Qualifications:
The qualifications we are looking for include but are not limited to:
- HR background with a law degree
- Regulatory experience
- Adjudicative skills
- Excellent written skills
- Not a current registrant of HRPA
Time Commitment:
The Complaints Committee meets in panels of three to review, assess and discuss a complaint case via a 2-hour teleconference call/Teams Meeting during business hours. The length of deliberations may include a greater time commitment depending on the complexity of the case. A panel may meet anywhere between 3-5 times per year, depending on the volume of complaints received each year.
Additionally, the Complaints Committee will meet for one business meeting with a duration of three hours. Travel to HRPA’s Toronto office may be required.
HRPA Regulatory Committee Boot Camp Participation:
If you are interested in volunteering on the CPD committee, then you are invited to attend HRPA’s Regulatory Committee Boot Camp on February 16, 2021, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Although the webinar is free of charge, registration is required to receive the login details, please register here. Please note that any committee appointment would be conditional on the completion of the Boot Camp and do keep in mind that you may only volunteer for one committee. The Boot Camp will be recorded and archived for individuals who are not able to attend the live recording.
