Position Summary

The PD Coordinator assists with the planning of all chapter programs, events, and conferences, and is part of a vital chapter initiative to help organize and influence the professional development initiatives for our members. This exciting opportunity provides the volunteer with the chance to work on strategic program development objectives that will directly influence the success of the Durham Chapter. The role works under the guidance and direction of the Director of Professional Development.

Role Responsibilities

  • Source and coordinate with speakers, arrange meeting venues, establish program dates and timing, and help facilitate learning opportunities
  • Participate in the development and provision of professional development that satisfies the specific needs of members by addressing current human resources issues, trends or strategies
  • Assist with tracking metrics and program reporting
  • Be available for monthly committee and/or subcommittee meetings and events as required
  • Ensure compliance with communication policies, procedures and brand standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with event planning or marketing an asset
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Good presentation skills and business acumen
  • Willingness to learn and a positive attitude
