Position Summary:
The Review Committee is an independent administrative tribunal established pursuant to Section 12 of the Registered Human Resources Professionals Act, 2013.
The Review Committee shall review every matter referred to it by the Registrar under section 40 of the Act to determine whether the member or firm’s bankruptcy or insolvency event may pose a risk of harm to any person, to direct the Registrar to investigate the matter, to conduct hearings as to whether the member or firm’s bankruptcy or insolvency event may pose a risk of harm to any person, and upon a determination that there are reasonable grounds for believing that the member or firm’s bankruptcy or insolvency event poses or may pose a risk of harm to any person, to exercise any of the powers granted to it under Subsection 41(8) of the Registered Human Resources Professionals Act, 2013.
Qualifications:
There shall be a minimum of 3 people who have their CHRP, CHRL and/or CHRE designation in good standing on the Committee. There shall be a minimum of 3 Public Representatives on the Committee.
Time Commitment:
As a member of the Review Committee, you would be called up on attend hearings on an as-needed basis. The process for a single case can involve multiple hearings, as such, it is difficult to predict the time commitment that this role will require; however, a rough estimate would be 10-15 hours per year of in-person hearings at the HRPA office in Toronto, during business hours. Furthermore, given the nature of review cases, once you’re are assigned to a review panel your attendance at hearings is mandatory.
In addition to hearings, you will be required to attend an annual 3 hour business meeting, either in person or virtually. Currently all hearings, training and meetings are conducted remotely. Travel to HRPA’s Toronto office may be required in the future.

Although the webinar is free of charge, registration is required to receive the login details, please register here. Please note that any committee appointment would be conditional on the completion of the Boot Camp and do keep in mind that you may only volunteer for one committee. The Boot Camp will be recorded and archived for individuals who are not able to attend the live recording.
