Position Summary
As a vital part of our Membership Committee
, this role coordinates the sourcing, selection, and onboarding of new chapter volunteers. The role works under the direction of the Membership Director, and alongside a team of member engagement volunteers. This position works within the Volunteer Engagement subcommittee, and, together with this team, oversees the communication among interested members in becoming involved in managing various chapter duties and responsibilities.
Role Responsibilities
Promote the volunteer opportunity with Durham chapter to members
Facilitate volunteer onboarding and orientation
Coordinate two annual open houses to drive volunteer interest and discuss open opportunities
Respond to inquiries that come into the Durham Volunteer email inbox
Promote the volunteer opportunity actively at chapter events
Be available for monthly committee and subcommittee meetings as required
Ensure compliance with communication policies, procedures and brand standards
Qualifications
Previous experience with volunteer engagement an asset
Demonstrated enthusiasm for contributing effort toward the objectives of the Durham chapter
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Highly responsive and engaged
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Willingness to learn and a positive attitude
