Description: 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer through the Vice President of the Annual Conference & Sponsorships, the Annual Conference Programs Committee is responsible for designing a powerful and meaningful program for the annual conference through the identification, research and selection of keynote and session speakers for human resources professionals and the broader business community and which supports HRPA’s strategic directions and mission to be the human resources thought leader.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a strategy and timetable to complete program recommendations to meet the annual conference production schedule as laid out by the VP, Annual Conference & Sponsorships
  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality for the annual conference
  • Assist staff in the process of conducting market research, gathering information and negotiating contracts for the conference 
  • Conduct both pre and post event evaluations 

Selection Criteria:

  • Previous experience with a volunteer committee
  • Capable of cultivating relationships with volunteers and other key stakeholders
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to commit to weekly meetings during the development stages of the conference (mid-February - May)
  • Must be available to attend and participate for all three days of the annual conference
  • Must be willing to commit to a maximum 3-year term
  • Must be able to commit to a 3 day weekend for final speaker confirmations of the conference program
  • Must have a strong interest in thought leadership and current HR trends
  • Must be both a member of the Association and a holder of one of three professional designations (CHRP, CHRL, CHRE)

Qualifications:

Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRE)
Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL)
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
