Description:

Volunteer Management Committee Volunteer

The successful candidate will support one or more of the following activities throughout the year.

  • Source, evaluate and review potential candidates utilizing networking and internal database
  • Screen candidates applying to various boards within the York Region Chapter
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions for volunteer roles on iVolunteer website
  • Assist the Board with establishing volunteer opportunities
  • Maintain listing of volunteers along with their backgrounds and match to volunteer opportunities
  • Match volunteer’s capabilities with Committee role requirements and allocate assignments/roles based on fit
  • Maintain ongoing contact with assigned Board members and assist with filling needs for volunteers
  • Encourage ongoing dialogue between Committee members, volunteers and Board Directors
  • Develop, implement and maintain orientation program for volunteers to ensure that they maintain attachment to the Chapter
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified talent to fill volunteer opportunities
  • Develop and maintain new programs to support volunteers including but not limited to award and recognition programs
  • Build Chapter and volunteer brand within HRPA and Chapter

Qualifications:

  • Experience with recruitment and selection, data management and volunteer relations
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Team building skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Innovative and creative
  • Member of the HRPA in good standing

Time Commitment:

3 – 6 hours per month on average

Location:

  • Virtual (teleconferencing, email)
  • In person meetings and events
